CLOTHES+

We're working with Serco and the British Heart Foundation on a doorstep collection service of clothes, books, CDs, bric-a-brac and small working electrical items, providing a great opportunity to increase recycling across our district.

All the items collected will be donated to the British Heart Foundation to raise money to help fund pioneering research and provide lifesaving services for the community.

When is the next collection?

The next collection takes place across the district in early July 2017. Keep an eye out for a flyer coming through your door and a hanger on your wheelie bin telling you the exact date. A further collection is scheduled for October.

What can I put out?

As well as clothes and shoes, books, CDs, DVDs, bric-a-brac and toys, we'll also collect:

  • kettles
  • toasters
  • irons
  • sandwich makers
  • Digibox or Freeview boxes
  • hair dryers
  • hair styling appliances
  • radio/DAB radios
  • docking stations
  • table lamps
  • batteries (in a tied small bag)
  • other working small electrical items up to the size of a microwave

All items must be clean and in good saleable condition. Any electrical items should be in full working order.

What can I do if my bag is missed?

If it has not been picked up by the end of the working day, then please contact the British Heart Foundation or call them directly on 01372 477 349.

If you think someone has stolen your items, please report it directly to the British Heart Foundation by calling 0800 138 6556. They record information on any thefts for investigation with the Charity Retail Association. They'll need details of the vehicle registration and a photo if possible.

Donations so far

In previous collections, we've had a total of 6,801 bags and raised approximately £26,000 for the British Heart Foundation.

Thank you and please keep your donations coming - you're helping to make a difference.
