It's really important that you recycle your waste - and in the right way.
Recycling has lots of benefits including:
- saving natural resources - old items can be made into new items without the need to use natural resources, like coal, plants, and soil
- saving energy - using recycled items in manufacturing uses a lot less energy than making new ones
- protecting the environment - recycling means we don't have to extract and use raw materials that create air and water pollution, as well as greenhouse gas emissions
How you can recycle more
Make sure you recycle your waste in the right bin. If you're not sure, you can check what goes in your bins or boxes.
Leave your food waste out in your kerbside caddy every week for us to collect, and sign up for a garden waste subscription to get rid of your garden waste.
You could also try composting your food and garden waste. Visit Recycle Now for tips on home composting.
If you have items that can't go in your bins, like electrical items, furniture or clothing, you can donate or recycle them or take them to your nearest tip or recycling centre.
