Landscape concept designs

Last year (2023) we appointed HTA Design to design and deliver a programme of public realm and green space improvements around the city.

As part of this, concept designs for each Levelling Up site were produced. Your feedback will be used to help us with the design development, and will be combined with ongoing site surveys, analysis and research into each site’s history.

Connected Canterbury highway proposals

From August to November this year (2023), we consulted on the proposed changes to the public highway at five separate locations in Canterbury.

We will analyse all the survey comments and publish a summary of the feedback we got.

Story garden plans and routes

During June and July this year (2023), we consulted on our story garden plans and routes.

Nine spaces have been chosen for the story gardens:

  • the Castle Keep and grounds
  • St George's Square (clocktower)
  • Greyfriars Gardens
  • the Tower of St Mary Magdalene
  • Garden of St Mary de Castro
  • Three Cities Garden
  • Dane John Gardens
  • St Radigund's Garden
  • Solly's Orchard and Abbots Mill
