Bin collections over Christmas and New Year
Your bin day will change over Christmas and New Year.
Find out about changes to parking launched in April 2024.
Use our colour-coded car park bands to plan your journey to avoid congestion and pay less.
We've given each car park a band between 1 and 5 and a colour. You pay the same rate for every car park in the same band.
For example, car parks in pink band 1 - which includes Pound Lane and Watling Street - are £3.70 per hour. Car parks in yellow band 3 - which includes Holmans Meadow and William Street - are £1.90 per hour.
If you're a resident of Canterbury, Herne Bay, Whitstable or the rural villages, you can apply for a residents rate permit in certain car parks.
You pay 10% less in all ANPR car parks in bands 2 and 3 - which includes St Radigund's, Middle Wall and Neptune - and 20% less at all Park and Ride sites.
You just need to give us proof of residency and your vehicle registration, then the residents rate will be applied every time you park in one of those car parks.
You can park for an extra hour in all of our car parks except Park and Ride.
This means three free hours instead of two.
